I have had a couple of interesting experiences in my life that I would like to share in this post. They are very similar and tell the same story.
A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to visit Russia. While I was there I had an interesting conversation with our taxi driver. We got to talking about communism and how things had changed since.
What he said might shock a lot of Americans.
He said, I'd go back to it today if I could.
Why? We asked
To shorten a long conversation he told us he would go back for security. He told about his dad who was afraid to retire because he didn't think he could sustain himself and how that was never a problem in comunism.
There was security.
The second experience comes from a class I took in college. The teacher invited a Russian man that was visiting her family to speak to our class.
While I remember nothing else from this class I will never forget the lesson this man taught.
He drew a diagram on the board and explained why many Russians would love to return to Communism and would do it in a second given the opportunity.

The bigger the risks you take, the further the potential fall if you fail.
Little Security
