Through out the history of TV there has been some time of American talent show the most notable in the past being Star Search and the most well known today being American Idol.
There is a lot of talk about how American Idol and how it dominates the ratings year after year. Even on down years it is consitently the number one show on TV. The show has even prompted spin offs of all kinds of different talent shows . Country star, Americas got talent, singing bee, etc.
While most of these knock off's do not seem to gain the same reults in rating there has been one that has. So you think you can dance.

While some people claim to watch only the weeks where these shows are showing all of the "untalented" people the ratings seem to show that people really like the talent.
Personally they could go back to the star search days and only show the "good" contestants and I would be happy.

I love to be inspired and thats what truly talented people do they inspire.
How can anyone claim that the arts are not important and more importantly that quality arts are not important. When we truly produce a good product people follow.
