So as I have been working on my school website lately I have tried to make it more interesting for the kids to come to. I try to put really valuble tools and information on the site but if I cant get the kids their in the first place it doesn't do much good. I have put a few videos up on youtube of past performances but in doing this I have began to wonder wether or not I should. In my opinion it is a great tool and a wonderful resource but I fear some parents might not like it even though there are absolutly no names attached to the videos and frankly I think you would have to be looking for the video to even find it. I am curious what others think about this topic.
I don't know about AZ privacy laws, but in Texas, in my District, I have to have an official signed note from parents giving consent to post a photo or video of their child. I can't even show a video of one third grade class performing, to another one of my music classes without the permission forms.
Every 1st grade student shown in the small movement clip on my site had returned a form. Two students were left out because their parents didn't sign.
